- Alegra Motorsports announced a rare land and sea
sponsorship for next weekend on Tuesday. The team will carry primary sponsorship from Huski Chocolate, a chocolate drink that is only currently available in Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom. Race fans would likely recognize the company for being the primary sponsor on Marcus Ericsson's No. 8 in the NTT IndyCar Series and as an associate sponsor with McLaren in Formula 1.
The sponsorship is critical since sponsorship issues likely caused the team to curtail their full-time IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship program to part-time after Watkins Glen. The No. 28 Mercedes will be driven by Michael de Quesada, Daniel Juncadella and Daniel Morad. Juncadella will be making his debut with the team.
Meanwhile, Huski Chocolate will also sponsor a powerboat that team owner Carlos de Quesada will be driving in the Race World Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla. He will be assisted by Gary Stray and Steve Curtis.
