What to Watch: Thursday

- Today is Championship 4 Media Day in Phoenix. All 12 championship contenders will be meeting with media and talking about this weekend's on-track action. We will have plenty of coverage from Arizona for your pleasure.

- Teams are arriving at Phoenix Raceway today. There is no on-track activity, but Camping World Truck Series will park in the garage today starting at 5 p.m. ET. Work on trucks will be allowed from 7 - 10 p.m. ET. NASCAR Cup Series teams will load into the garage starting at 10:30 p.m. ET.

- It is Media Day for Formula 1 teams in Mexico City. Expect some randomness to come out of the press conferences.

- For the FIA World Endurance Championship, Free Practice for Saturday's season-ending Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain begins today with a 90 minute session at 10:30 a.m. ET. As the race will run into the night, this session will replicate those conditions. Free Practice No. 2 is scheduled for 2 a.m. Friday ET. As a result, we will have a write up here in the Newsletter on those two sessions, along with anything else that breaks today for your pleasure.

Around the World in Motorsports: Nov. 3

- Nico Hulkenberg was set to test for Arrow McLaren SP at some undetermined point during the offseason. Hulkenberg revealed on his Twitter feed that this is no longer the case. He did not reveal a detailed reason as to why this is so.

- In Australia, Kelly Stone Racing's David Reynolds has been ruled out of the remaining three Repco Supercars Championship rounds at Sydney Motorsports Park. The reasoning? Reynolds is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and New South Wales regulations do not allow anyone onto the premises that isn't fully vaccinated.

According to an official statement jointly released by both Supercars and Kelly Grove Racing, Reynolds attempted to obtain a vaccination exemption, but was denied. With his options exhausted, Reynolds consented to receive his first COVID-19 shot. However, he has to have two shots in order to race. The hope is that Reynolds will be fully vaccinated in time to compete in the Repco Bathurst 1000 on Dec. 5.

- With Reynolds out, Kelly Grove Racing announced that Luke Youlden, 43, Reynolds' co-driver for the endurance races, will replace Reynolds in this weekend's ARMOR ALL Sydney SuperNight events. Youlden has competed in what is now the Repco Supercars Championship since 2000. All 56 of his previous starts have been in endurance events at Bathurst, Sandown Raceway, Philip Island and Queensland Raceway. This weekend will mark the veteran racer's first-ever sprint race start in the Repco Supercars Championship.

Myatt Snider Moving to Jordan Anderson Racing for 2022

Jordan Anderson Racing announced Wednesday that Myatt Snider will join the team to drive the No. 31 Chevrolet full-time in 2022. TaxSlayer will follow Snider from Richard Childress Racing and serve as the primary sponsor.

Detroit Grand Prix Moving to Downtown Streets in 2023

The Detroit Grand Prix will leave Belle Isle Park after the 2022 season. After gaining approval from the Detroit City Council, the race will move to a new circuit in Downtown Detroit, the first time that the Grand Prix will be downtown since 1991.
