- Sprint Car racer Parker Price-Miller, 23, announced Thursday morning on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of cancer. He currently has a tumor in the bones in his right
ankle.
Price-Miller plans to continue racing through the end of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season in Charlotte. Then, the real battle begins.
In addition to his dirt racing, Price-Miller made his Camping World Truck Series debut earlier this year in the Corn Belt 150 at Knoxville Raceway. Driving for Jordan Anderson Racing, Price-Miller qualified seventh, but finished 29th after getting caught up in a crash.
- In FIA World Endurance Championship practice earlier today, Toyota GAZOO Racing's Sebastien Buemi was fastest overall with a lap at 109.493 mph at the Bahrain International Circuit. Buemi's lap was four-tenths of a second quicker than teammate Jose Maria Lopez. Signatech Alpine's Nicolas Lapierre was third in the Hypercar class, another one-eighth of a second back.
The LMP2 class was topped by JOTA Sport's Antonio Felix da Costa with a lap at 108.989 mph, good for third overall. The lap was one-eighth of a second faster than Realteam Racing's Loic Duval. Sean Galael in the second JOTA Sport entry was third, then Racing Team Nederland's Giedo van der Garde and United Autosports' Filipe Albuquerque.
GTE-Pro saw Porsche GT Team's Richard Lietz go fastest with a lap at 102.615 mph, good for 15th overall. Lietz's lap was eight-tenths of a second faster than teammate Kevin Estre. AF Corse's was more than two seconds back in third.
GTE-Am was led by Team Project 1's Matteo Cairoli with a lap at 102.446 mph, good for 16th overall. Cairoli's lap was seven-tenths of a second faster than the similar Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Dempsey-Proton Racing's Julien Andlauer. Andlauer's teammate Matt Campbell was third fastest, then TF Sport's Dylan Pereira and D'Station Racing's Andrew Watson.
