- Motorsport UK announced Wednesday that they have suspended the recognition of licenses given by the Russian Automobile Federation and the Belarus Automotive Federation. As a result, drivers and
teams from those countries would be forbidden from competing in any event in the United Kingdom. This would include drivers such as Nikita Mazepin.
- The ARCA Menards Series revealed their new on-air for the 12 ARCA races that will air on MAVTV this season on Tuesday. Making her series debut in the broadcast booth will be former NASCAR on FOX pit reporter and host of NASCAR on NBC's Countdown to Green Krista Voda. She will be joined in the booth by the returning Jim Tretow. In a pit reporting role will be Mike Massaro, who replaced
Dave Rieff.
Voda served as NASCAR on NBC's pre-race host for NASCAR Countdown until the end of 2020. Once the pandemic began, her role was solely in Connecticut. After the 2020 season, Voda was not retained. Since then, Voda has appeared on some of the Lucas Oil On the Edge shows on MAVTV, such as coverage of the back in July.
Massaro has been off of racing coverage for much longer than Voda. He served as a NASCAR reporter for ESPN starting in the late 1990s to 2014, when the network left the sport. This included the years in which ESPN didn't have NASCAR rights and he couldn't get credentialed, resulting in him chasing down drivers for interviews at the airport. Once ESPN's NASCAR deal ended, Massaro moved to NBC
and served as a pit reporter there for two years. Since 2017, Massaro has worked for New Britain, Conn.-based WVIT, referred to on-air as NBC Connecticut, as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
