- European Le Mans Series teams are holding pre-season testing this week ahead of the four-hour season opener this weekend at Paul Ricard in France. COOL Racing's Yifei Ye was quickest overall in the first two sessions. His lap in the second session at 124.303 mph was the fastest for the first day. Inter Europol Competition's Fabio Scherer was fastest in the night session and
second overall for the day. IDEC Sport's Paul-Loup Chatin was third, then United Autosport's Tom Gamble and Graff Racing's David Droux.
LMP3 was topped by COOL Racing's Malthe Jakobsen with a lap at 117.247 during the opening session. This lap was six-tenths of a second faster than RLR MSport's Alex Kapadia. Jean-Ludovic Foubert in another COOL Racing entry was third in class, followed by DKR Engineering's Sebastian Alvarez. United Autosports' Finn Gehrsitz was fifth.
Finally, Iron Lynx's Davide Rigon was fastest in the GTE class in his Ferrari with a lap at 113.043 mph in the morning session. The lap was less than three-hundredths of a second faster than the Porsche of Proton Competition's Gianmaria Bruni. Rinaldi Racing's Oscar Tunjo was third in his Ferrari. Later in the same session, teammate Fabrizio Crestani turned in the fourth best time of the
day in the same car. Absolute Racing's Martin Rump was fifth.
