Around the World in Motorsports: May 23

- With qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 now complete, teams can focus on preparing for the race itself. Monday saw teams practice for two hours under sunny skies. Chip Ganassi Racing showed their strength by sweeping the top three spots. Alex Palou was fastest overall with a lap at 229.441 mph. Pole sitter Scott Dixon was eight-hundreths of a second dslower in second,
then Jimmie Johnson. Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing's Takuma Sato was fourth, while Marcus Ericsson was fifth in the fourth Ganassi entry.
The session was not clean as AJ Foyt Enterprises' Dalton Kellett crashed (see below). Kellett is ok, but the Foyt team has a few days to repair their car before Carb Day.

Practice
Despite the high speeds, Indianapolis 500 practice had been pretty clean up until Practice No. 8 on Monday. Then Dalton Kellett spun and smacked the wall hard in turn 4.

For Sunday's Coca-Cola 600, there are 37 teams entered. The Money Team Racing is back with Kaz Grala driving, while Ryan Preece returns to Rick Ware Racing.

Saturday's ALSCO Uniforms 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway has 42 teams entered. Ryan Preece will drive BJ McLeod Motorsports' No. 5 in collaboration with Stewart-Haas Racing. Kyle Weatherman is back in the Jesse
Iwuji No. 34, while BJ McLeod Motorsports and RSS Racing each have extra entries.

There are 37 teams entered in Friday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. AM Racing has entered their second truck (No. 37) for Max Gutierrez, while Matt Mills returns to the Young's
Motorsports No. 20 after Garrett Smithley failed to qualify in Texas.

| | Presley Sorah Scores 2nd Win of the Season at
Texas
In Monday Night Racing competition, Presley Sorah claimed the victory in a Radical SR8 race at the virtual Texas Motor Speedway. Collin Fern was second, then Max Fennon, Matt Stallknecht and Nick Olsen.
