- Niece Motorsports announced Wednesday that Carson Hocevar does plan to race this weekend at Sonoma Raceway after suffering an undisclosed lower extremity injury on the final lap of Saturday's Toyota 200 presented by CK Power at World Wide Technology Raceway. Hocevar was T-boned by Tyler Hill in the final lap crash. That said, Hocevar is still not 100%
The team has announced that Daniel Suarez will be on standby to relieve Hocevar should that be necessary. Hocevar will also be speaking with the assembled media Friday in Sonoma to discuss his
injuries.
- Anthony Perrego passed pole sitter Danny Bouc on a restart with 16 laps to go Wednesday night and held on to win the rain-delayed Short Track Super Series Battle at Bloomsburg at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway in Pennsylvania. New Jersey's Ryan Godown was second, then Bouc, Matt Sheppard and Mike Gular.
- Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus' Olivier Pla was fastest overall in 24 Hours of Le Mans Free Practice No. 2 with a lap at 145.913 mph. This was .264 seconds faster than Toyota GAZOO Racing's Kamui Kobayashi. Brendon Hartley was third, then Ryan Briscoe and Matthieu Vaxiviere.
LMP2 was topped by Team WRT's Rene Rast at 143.024 mph, sixth overall. He was two-tenths of a second faster than United Autosports' Filipe Albuquerque. Dries Vanthoor in the second WRT entry was third, then COOL Racing's Ricky Taylor. Prema's Robert Kubica was fifth.
GTE-Pro was led by Nicky Catsburg with a lap at 130.545 mph. This was one-sixth of a second faster than Porsche's Frederic Makowiecki. Tommy Milner was third, then Felipe Fraga and Kevin Estre.
Team Project 1's Mikkel Pedersen was fastest in GTE-AM at 129.361 mph. He was one-tenth of a second faster than Dempsey-Proton Racing's Jan Heylen. Northwest AMR's Nicki Thiim was third, then Rahel Fey and Charlie Fagg.
