- Today is the first day of practice for the Indianapolis 500. Opening practice is already underway on the 2.5-mile oval and runs until 11:15 a.m. ET. Later on, there will be Rookie Orientation, followed by a second practice session that runs until 6 p.m. All on-track action can be streamed live on
Peacock (subscription required).
- NASCAR teams are prepping for this weekend's action in Texas. We'll have anything of note that breaks for you at Frontstretch.

Around the World in Motorsports: May 16

- Canadian Tire Motorsport Park announced Monday that Chevrolet will serve as the title sponsor of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at the
2.459-mile road course in July, replacing Mobil 1. The race is now known as the Chevrolet Grand Prix.
- When IMSA does go to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, they will be subject to strict entry requirements as per the Canadian government, which currently requires everyone entering the country to show proof of full vaccination. SportsCar365.com is reporting that a number of teams in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge may not make the trip to Ontario because of this.

For this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in Texas, there are 38 trucks entered (originally 39). Jordan Anderson returns with his own No. 3, while Ryan Preece replaces Riley Herbst in the David Gilliland

Today is the beginning of practice for the Indianapolis 500. 33 teams have posted entries. All of the full-time teams are entered, along with extra cars from Chip Ganassi Racing and Arrow McLaren SP. One-off
teams include Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's two cars and the DragonSpeed/Cusick Motorsports effort.

| | James Bickford Survives Last Lap Bump n’ Run to Win at Watkins
Glen
James Bickford received a bump from Shane van Gisbergen on the final lap, but held on to win the Monday Night Racing event at Watkins Glen Monday night. Van Gisbergen was second, then Will Rodgers, Brad Perez and Preston Pardus.
