Around the World in Motorsports: July 13

- David Gravel led all 25 laps Wednesday night to win the Jokers' Wild, opening night of the Kings Royal weekend at Eldora Speedway for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. Carson Macedo was second, then Brian Brown and Justin Peck. Kasey Kahne was fifth.

Brad Sweet was eighth and keeps the points lead. His margin is down to 48 points over Gravel, who moved up two spots to second with his victory. Macedo is third, then Sheldon Haudenschild and Logan Schuchart.

- At Big Diamond Speedway Wednesday night, Matt Sheppard passed Ryan Godown for the lead on lap 11. From there, no one gave him much of a fight as he held on to win the Super DIRTcar Series Anthracite Assault 75 for his second win of the year. Stewart Friesen was second, then Godown, Alex Yankowski and Adam Pierson.

Through seven races, Sheppard currently has a 32-point lead over Mat Williamson. Anthony Perrego is third, then Max McLaughlin and Jimmy Phelps.

Nick Sanchez Not Running Remainder of Planned Xfinity Schedule for McLeod

Nick Sanchez announced Wednesday that he has opted out of his schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with BJ McLeod Motorsports for the remainder of the season.

Entry List: FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix

For Saturday's FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix, the first of two GT-only races in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, there are only 15 teams entered. WeatherTech Racing has moved from GTD Pro to GTD, while CarBahn Motorsports with Peregrine Racing returns after their big crash at Watkins Glen.

Entry List: Lime Rock Park 120

For the two-hour IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge event at Lime Rock, there are 35 teams entered. Rennsport One is back with John Capestro-Dubets joining Stevan McAleer, while KohR Motorsports' Mustangs are back as well.
