- INDYCAR announced Thursday morning that Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires has been rebranded. The series will now be known as Indy NXT presented by Firestone.

- At The Dirt Track at Charlotte Wednesday night, Logan Schuchart took advantage of Carson Macedo losing a cylinder by taking the lead on the penultimate lap. He then held on to win his fifth race of the year. Macedo had to settle for second, then points leader Brad Sweet, Rico Abreu and Giovanni Scelzi

David Gravel finished sixth, allowing Sweet to expand his points lead to 22 points with two races remaining. Macedo is third, then Sheldon Haudenschild and Donny Schatz.

- In the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series, Mike Marlar clinched the championship Wednesday night in style by driving to the lead from ninth on the grid and winning. Shane Clanton was second, then Trent Ivey, Brandon Overton and Tim McCreadie.
