Around the World in Motorsports: Feb. 13 |
- Legacy Motor Club announced Monday that Wendy's will serve as the primary sponsor of Noah Gragson's No. 42 Chevrolet in the Daytona 500. The press release is worded in a way that suggests that the sponsorship deal would be for multiple races, but
Daytona is the only race specifically stated as one that they will sponsor. The move continues an existing relationship that Gragson has with the fast food chain. They sponsored Gragson with Beard
Motorsports last year at Talladega in a one-race deal. In addition, there will be substantial activation at Daytona. There will be a special stand in the infield known as Wendy's
Winner's Square. Here, fans can get free Dave's Single hamburgers, "Hot & Crispy" fries and what is described in the press release as Gragson's "favorite Frosty hack," blue raspberry flavor with Nerds candy. Unlike last year's scheme, which was based on the take out bags that Wendy's was using at the time, Gragson's scheme for the
Daytona 500 is a throwback to their 1984 "Where's the Beef?" ad campaign. In this case, "the beef" will be directly on Gragson's hood. - Aston Martin Formula One revealed their newest challenge, the AMR23, Monday at their headquarters near Silverstone in England. The new car for Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll is designed to improve upon the team's fortunes in
2022. Last season with Stroll, Nico Hulkenberg and the now-retired Sebastian Vettel, the team finished seventh in the Constructors' Championship with 55 points. |
