NASCAR and SiriusXM announced a renewal of their broadcast agreement Wednesday. The new deal will allow for the continuation of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Channel 90 on
both Sirius and XM satellite radio.
The deal will continue to include live broadcasts of all of NASCAR's National Series races, along with daily call-in shows. There will also continue to be pre and post-race shows from the
track.
- FIA World Endurance Championship teams practiced early this morning at Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for this weekend's third race of the WEC season. In Free Practice No. 1, Toyota GAZOO
Racing's Sebastien Buemi was fastest overall with a lap at 127.394 mph. The lap was 1.65 seconds faster than Ferrari AF Corse's Antonio Fuoco. Jose Maria Lopez was third in the second Toyota, then Alessandro Pier Guidi in the second Ferrari 499P. Porsche Penske Motorsport's Laurens Vanthoor was fifth at his home track.
In LMP2, United Autosports' Filipe Albuquerque was fastest with a lap at 122.908 mph, 10th overall. Albuquerque was .043 seconds faster than JOTA Sport's Pietro Fittipaldi. Tom Blomqvist was third in
the second United Autosports entry, then Inter Europol Competition's Fabio Scherer. Prema Racing's Daniil Kvyat was fifth.
GTE-Am was led by the Ferrari of Kessel Racing's Daniel Serra with a lap at 115.050 mph, overall. Serra was .54 seconds quicker than AF Corse's Ulysse de Pauw. ORT by TF's Aston Martin for Charlie
Eastwood was third, then Project 1-AO's Matteo Cairoli. Richard Mille AF Corse's Lilou Wadoux.
Wadoux's quick time came early in the session. Later on, teammate Luis Perez Companc spun the No. 83 Ferrari and hit the wall to bring out the session's first red flag. The crash ended the team's session
50 minutes early.
The 90-minute session also ended early due to a second crash. This one involved Satoshi Hoshino in the D'Station Racing Aston Martin and the Vanwall of Esteban
Guerreri.
- Free Practice No. 2 saw Ferrari AF Corse's Antonio Giovinazzi go fastest with a lap at 128.556 mph. His lap was 1.278 seconds faster than teammate Miguel Molina. Chip Ganassi Racing's Earl Bamber
was third fastest in his Cadillac VSeries.R, then Ryo Hirakawa in the No. 8 Toyota. Peugeot TotalEnergies' Jean-Eric Vergne was fifth in his Peugeot 9X8.
Team WRT's Robin Frijns was fastest in LMP2 at 124.236 mph, eighth overall. Frijns was .41 seconds faster than Albuquerque. Louis Deletraz in the second Team WRT ORECA 07-Gibson was third, then Scherer
and Vector Sport's Gabriel Aubry.
AF Corse's Davide Rigon was fastest in GTE-Am with a lap at 115.424 mph, th overall. His lap was 1.05 seconds faster than Serra. GR Racing's Riccardo Pera was third in the best Porsche 911 RSR-19,
then the similar Porsche for Proton Competition's Harry Tincknell. Richard Mille AF Corse's Alessio Rovera was fifth after the team made repairs to their Ferrari.
The session had multiple interruptions. Porsche Penske Motorsport's No. 5 with Dane Cameron at the wheel suffered a broken driveshaft. A fire on the Ganassi Cadillac No. 3 caused another red
flag.
The session ultimately ended early after one of the worst things that could happen between teammates occurred. AF Corse teammates Diego Alessio (No. 21) and
Thomas Flohr (No. 54) collided on-track and crashed. Both Ferraris were extensively damaged.
