- Lineups for the Rolex 24 at Daytona continue to flesh out. Sean Creech Motorsports announced Thursday that Jonny Edgar and Nolan Siegel will join the team in the sole Ligier JS P217-Gibson in the field. They will race with full-time drivers Joao Barbosa and Dr. Lance Willsey.
Edgar will be making his IMSA debut. He raced full-time in the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2023, finishing 13th in points
with a victory in the final race of the season at Monza.
Siegel has previously driven for the team in the now-defunct LMP3 class. His stock skyrocketed after a strong run for Inter Europol Competition in the Asian Le Mans Series last year.
Siegel's
part-time sports car schedule came in addition to a full-time schedule in Firestone Indy NXT. There, Siegel finished third in points with two victories (Detroit Race No. 2 and Road America) and five podium finishes. He also claimed Rookie of the Year honors.
- JMF Motorsports announced Tuesday that they will launch a new full-time effort in IMSA MIchelin Pilot Challenge's Grand Sport class for 2024. Michai Stephens and Jesse Webb, who were teammates in Pirelli GT4 America SprintX in 2023, will drive the new Mercedes. The team will still field a car in GT4 America for Demi Chalkias and
Jake Cowden this year starting at Sonoma in April. Stephens and Webb finished second in Silver points in 2023 with five class victories. Three of those wins were overall triumphs.
- Motorsports In Action will be back full-time in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2024 with their
McLaren Artura GT4. Despite winning the season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in October, Jesse Lazare will have a new teammate this year. Replacing Alex Filsinger will be Michael de Quesada.
Previously, de Quesada and Lazare raced as teammates with Alegra Motorsports. In 2017, the duo were part of the winning squad in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the GTD class.
Later on, they raced together in what is now Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS.
- Czabok-Simpson Motorsports announced Friday that in addition to a car in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, they will field a new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS CS in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2024. The car will be shared by Sebastian Carazo, Nikita Lastochkin and Gordon Scully.
Carazo moves up from VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, where he raced a similar Porsche last year. He finished second in GSX points with two victories.
Lastochkin has primarily open-wheel experience, most recently racing in Indy Lights in 2021 for HMD Motorsports, where he finished 13th in points. Scully comes to the team from the USF2000
Championship presented by Cooper Tires, where he finished 15th in points last year with a best finish of eighth at St. Petersburg. All three drivers will be making their Pilot Challenge debuts.
- Rockwell Autosport Development announced that they will field one Audi RS3 LMS TCR in the Michelin Pilot Challenge season opener later this month. That car will be shared by team
owner Eric Rockwell, longtime crew chief Doug Oakley and Tom O'Gorman.
