- SportsBusinessJournal's Adam Stern is
reporting that NBC Sports will shift Rick Allen off of NASCAR Cup Series broadcasts after the Olympic break this summer. In his place, Leigh Diffey will move over to Cup races from the NTT IndyCar Series. Allen would continue to work on NASCAR Xfinity Series broadcasts.
- Suspensions have
been levied by DIRTcar against Bobby Pierce, Kyle Bronson and Devin Moran after they were found to have illegally modified their tires. They are the first of potentially a series of suspensions in dirt racing as officials are cracking down on the soaking of tires.
Pierce has been suspended for 30 days after he was found to have raced in the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series feature at Volusia Speedway Park on Feb. 16 on an illegally modified tire. In addition to the suspension, he has been docked 294 driver and owners points and fined a
total of $8400.
Moran was suspended for 30
days for an illegally modified tire at Volusia Speedway Park on Feb. 13. In addition, he has been fined $10,400, a combination of the forfeiture of the purse from that night ($9000), a $1000 monetary fine and a $400 bill to cover the tire analysis.

- DIRTcar announced Tuesday that the Sooner State Showdown, a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at Lawton Speedway scheduled for March 23, has been cancelled as a result of a fire last Wednesday that destroyed the press box and some reserved seats at the Oklahoma dirt track.
As a result, the race has been shifted to Kennedale Speedway Park in Texas. That track was supposed to host the NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in last weekend's Cowtown Classic that got wiped out due to rain.
