- In the opening practice this morning for the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring, Chip Ganassi Racing's Renger van der Zande was fastest overall in his Cadillac VSeries.R with a lap at 124.345 mph. The lap was .479 seconds faster than Action Express Racing's Pipo Derani in the second Cadillac. Porsche Penske Motorsport's Nick Tandy was third, then Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Global teammates Brendon Hartley
and Louis Deletraz.
In LMP2, TDS Racing's Mikkel Jensen was fastest with a lap at 120.925 mph, 11th overall. The lap was .021 seconds faster than United Autosports' Paul di Resta. Di Resta's teammate Ben Hanley was third, then CrowdStrike Racing by APR's Colin Braun. AO Racing's Paul-Loup Chatin was fifth.
In the GT ranks, VasserSullivan's Jack Hawksworth was fastest in GTD Pro in his Lexus with a lap at 112.011 mph. The lap was .094 seconds faster than the Ferrari of Risi Competizione's Daniel Serra. The Porsche of AO Racing's Sebastian Priaulx was third, then Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports' Tommy Milner. The Heart of Racing's Ross Gunn was fifth.
In GTD, VasserSullivan's Parker Thompson was fastest with a lap at 111.581 mph, third off all GT drivers. Thompson's lap was .285 seconds faster than Team Korthoff Motorsports' Mikael Grenier. CetilarRacing's Antonio Fuoco was third, then the Lamborghini of Forte Racing's Loris Spinelli. Daytona winner Philip Ellis of Winward Racing was fifth.
54 teams set times in the session. Those who did not were JDC-Miller MotorSports' Porsche 963, Paul Miller Racing's GTD Pro BMW, Era Motorsport's LMP2 entry and Conquest Racing's Ferrari in GTD.
The JDC Porsche was the reason for the session's sole red flag as Gianmaria Bruni stalled in turn 1 when starting the session. GTP cars generally start
on electric power, then switch to the internal combustion engine. Bruni's Porsche would not switch to the internal combustion engine, forcing him to stop.

In TCR, HART's Chad Gilsinger was fastest in his previous generation Honda Civic Type-R TCR with a lap at 100.215 mph, good for 24th overall. Gilsinger's lap was .102 seconds faster than Bryan Herta
Autosport's Harry Gottsacker. Road Shagger Racing's Jon Morley was third in his Audi, then Mason Filippi in the second BHA Hyundai. JDC-Miller MotorSports' Chris Miller was fifth.
In this morning's second practice session, Rennsport One was once again fastest, this time with Stevan McAleer driving. McAleer set a lap at 103.740 mph, which was .179 seconds faster than Archangel
Motorsports' Aaron Telitz. Pumpelly was third fastest, then JMF Motorsports' Michai Stephens. De Quesada was fifth.
In TCR, Miller was fastest with a lap at 100.815 mph, good for 27th overall. Miller's lap was .048 seconds faster than Gottsacker. Filippi was third, then Victor Gonzalez Racing Team's Tyler Gonzalez. The Alfa Romeo of KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering's Tim Lewis
Jr. was fifth.
Changes to the entry list for Pilot Challenge included the addition of the VGRT Hyundais that weren't originally listed. The Skip Barber Racing School Aston Martin was withdrawn.
Also, TeamTGM has a driver change. Paul Holton has been drafted into the
No. 46 Aston Martin, replacing Owen Trinkler. It will mark Holton's first start in Pilot Challenge in a year.
