- In opening practice today for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Toyota GAZOO Racing's Brendon Hartley was fastest overall with a lap at 147.958 mph. He was .597 seconds faster than Hertz Team JOTA's Callum Ilott. BMW M Team RLL's Dries Vanthoor was third, then Proton Competition's Julien Andlauer was fourth, followed by Nyck de Vries in the second Toyota.
In LMP2, Louis Deletraz was quickest in the AO by TF No. 14 with a lap at 142.273 mph. The lap was also fastest in the LMP2 Pro-Am subclass.
Deletraz was six-tenths of a second faster than Duqueine Team's James Allen. Filipe Albuquerque was third, then Proton Competition's Bent Viscaal, who was the fastest of the
regular LMP2 entries.
In LMGT3, Akkodis ASP Team's Esteban Masson backed up his Test Day pace by being fastest in class in his Lexus with a lap at 128.176 mph.
The session had a number of minor incidents. Three slow zones were instituted due to gravel trips for
Ben Keating and Rodrigo Sales. GR Racing's Michael Wainwright stalled on track as well.
Proton Competition's No. 88 Ford Mustang GT3 had a fire due to an issue in the fuel system. That resulted in the car staying in the garage for repairs.

Sprint Car Series was at Eagle Raceway in Nebraska Tuesday night for the Bikini Zone Eagle Nationals. Here, Kyle Larson snatched the lead after a vicious five-lap battle with Carson Macedo. From there, Larson held on to take the win and a check for $55,555.
Brad Sweet finished second, then James McFadden. Macedo ended up fourth, while Kerry Madsen was fifth.
In the points, Sweet has a 76-point lead over Tyler Courtney. Brent Marks is third, then Rico Abreu and Corey Day.
