Last year's Ally 400 was quite competitive. Ross Chastain raced up into contention and passed Martin Truex Jr. for the lead prior to the final round of pit stops under green. When Alex Bowman made his final stop with 34 laps to go, Chastain took the lead.

From there, Chastain held on to win on the concrete tri-oval. His margin of victory was .789 seconds over Truex. Denny Hamlin was third, then Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.

At this point, there have only been three Cup races at Nashville Superspeedway. Those races have been won by Chastain, Elliott and Larson.

"I am really excited to get there, in general. I remember growing up and watching races there as a kid, and to get to be the driver on track instead of the kid in the stands is a really cool feeling. I am sure I will see some friends and family that I haven’t seen in a while, which makes it special, too, because they were the ones to support me when I was chasing this dream. So to see them as a Cup Series driver means a lot to me. I think for the race, this will be a good opportunity for us to run well. "Nashville has been a great racetrack for us on both the Xfinity and Cup side of our program. Being able to win the Xfinity race last year was a huge highlight; getting that guitar that is so iconic and then running inside the top 10 all day in the Cup race. "Nashville has been fun. This will be year four since we’ve [NASCAR Cup Series] gone back, and I’ve really enjoyed the race there every year. The track has widened out quite a bit from what it used to be. We’ve also run well there the last few years – I think we finished eighth last summer and hopefully we can go back and have a similar weekend and go run up towards the top 10.
