- RACER.com is
reporting that VasserSullivan will send both of their Lexus RC F GT3s to Long Beach next weekend for the first of two street races on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule. The No. 14 entry will not be in the race as that is the team's GTD Pro car and Long Beach is not a GTD Pro race. The move has resulted in a split of the driver lineup in the No. 12 for this weekend only. Jack Hawksworth will join up with Frankie Montecalvo in the No. 12. The No. 14 has been renumbered as the No. 89. That car will be shared by Ben Barnicoat and Parker Thompson. Such a move has happened before. In 2022, the team entered the
No. 17 Lexus in the GTD class at Mid-Ohio and Belle Isle (pictured above). The duo of Hawksworth and INDYCAR regular Kyle Kirkwood ended up winning in class at Belle Isle. - Halmar Friesen Racing announced Tuesday morning that Chili's will serve as the primary sponsor on Stewart Friesen's No. 52
Toyota in Friday night's SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway. The Toyota will sport a scheme that will feature all of Chili's menu. Photo is courtesy of IMSA. |
