Records and facts
Last year's AdventHealth 400 had a controversial finish. Kyle Larson was in position to win, but Denny Hamlin ran him down in the closing laps. On the final lap, he got to Larson's rear bumper and got him loose.
Larson was able to recover from this and held onto the lead on the outside. However, exiting turn 2, Hamlin tapped Larson's rear bumper and turned him into the outside wall. That allowed Hamlin to take the lead
and win the race.
Hamlin's margin of victory was 1.307 seconds over a damaged Larson. William Byron was third, then Bubba Wallace and Ross Chastain.
Last year's victory gave Hamlin his fourth career victory at Kansas, which is the all-time
record. Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and Jeff Gordon. Only Hamlin and Johnson have wins there that came before the track was reconfigured in 2012.
