- Points-wise, there are some changes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings that come out of Wednesday's penalties. However, none of the three drivers penalized were in the top 16.
Jeb Burton was 19th in regular points after Daytona, 20th in Old School points and WC Points. The penalty drops
him to 20th in regular points, 21st in Old school and 22nd in WC points.
Kyle Sieg was 23rd in regular and Old School points, while he was 24th in WC Points. The penalty drops him to 24th in regular points, he stays 24th in Old School points and drops to 25th in WC Points.
Caesar Bacarella is part-time. He was 39th in regular points, 40th in Old School points and 42nd in WC points. The penalty drops him to a tie for 44th in regular points, 42nd in Old School points and 43rd in WC points.
- Wednesday night saw the Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series race at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. Here, a surprise came out to
play.
Trey Starks, who lives in Puyallup, Wash., started from the pole and led flag-to-flag to take a popular feature victory at his home track. Tyler Courtney was second, then Brad Sweet, Jacob Allen and Cole Macedo.
Sweet continues to lead by 122 points over Courtney. Rico Abreu is third, then
Brent Marks and James McFadden.
The penalty could mean some trouble for Sieg's team down the road. As a result of the 20-point deduction, the No. 28 is down to 28th in owners points, just eight points ahead of the No. 38 in 31st. Dropping below 30th in owners points in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will trigger purse payout deductions. That is definitely something that they'll want to
avoid.
