- SportsCar365.com is reporting that three-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou will compete in the Intercontinental GT Challenge Indianapolis 8 Hour on Oct. 5 for Cresson, Tex.-based Lone Star Racing. Palou will race in the Pro class alongside Fabian Schiller and Luca Stolz.
Palou has raced exclusively in open-wheel racing for the last five years. However, prior to
that, Palou raced full-time in both the Super Formula Championship and the Autobacs SuperGT Championship. In SuperGT, Palou raced a McLaren 720S GT3 in the GT300 class alongside veteran racer Seiji Ara for McLaren Customer Racing. The duo ended up 15th in GT300 points with a second-place finish at Autopolis.
