Records and facts
Last year's Hollywood Casino 400 was the first race of the playoffs. Here, there was no clear dominant driver as Kyle Larson led the most laps with 99, but was not in contention for the win late.
Denny Hamlin had taken the lead on lap 231 and was looking good for victory until Chris Buescher cut his right rear tire and brought out the yellow. That extended the race.
Everyone ended up pitting for fresh tires. Hamlin dropped back to fifth by taking four tires and getting jumped by three drivers with two tires. Daniel Suarez took the lead by staying out.
On the restart, Erik Jones and Joey Logano split Suarez for the lead, but Tyler Reddick swept around both of them for the lead at the white flag. From there, Reddick held on to take the win.
Reddick won by .327 seconds over Hamlin. Jones was third, then Larson and Logano.
Hamlin is the all-time winningest driver at Kansas Speedway with four victories. Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Joey Logano all have three Kansas wins. Seven separate
drivers have two wins each.
