- IMSA is holding an open test session this week at Sebring International Raceway ahead of next month's Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. Tuesday was for GT teams only.
During Session No. 1 Tuesday morning, Conquest Racing's Jan Heylen was fastest in his Ferrari 296 GT3 with a lap at 110.448 mph.
The lap was .229 seconds faster than the Mercedes of Winward Racing's Philip Ellis. Korthoff Competition Motorsports' Kenton Koch was third, then the Ferrari of Triarsi Competizione's Mike Skeen. Lone Star Racing's Scott Andrews was fifth. GTD teams comprised the top-six teams in the order.
In GTD Pro, Vasser Sullivan's Ben Barnicoat was fastest in his Lexus with a lap at
109.447 mph. His lap was .254 seconds faster than Ford Multimatic Motorsports' Christopher Mies. Teammate Ben Barker, back from his injury at Christmas, was third fastest, followed by the BMW of Paul Miller Racing's Jesse Krohn. AO Racing's Klaus Bachler was fifth in his Porsche.
In the afternoon session, Heylen improved to 110.599 mph to top the charts for the day. His lap
was .322 seconds faster than Korthoff Competition Motorsports' Maximilian Goetz. Andrews was third, then Ellis and The Heart of Racing's Casper Stevenson.
In GTD Pro, Vasser Sullivan's Aaron Telitz was fastest with a lap at 109.919 mph. His lap was .405 seconds faster than Barker. Krohn was third, then Dennis Olsen in the second Ford Mustang. Jonny Edgar in the AO Racing Porsche
was fifth.
