Around the World in Motorsports: July 2

- United Autosports announced Tuesday that Tom Blomqvist will drive the No. 22 ORECA 07-Gibson in the upcoming Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park alongside Dan Goldburg. Blomqvist is replacing Paul di Resta for just this race due to the fact that the race is in direct conflict with the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Sao Paulo. Di Resta is part of the Peugeot TotalEnergies factory Hypercar team in addition to his United Autosport duties.

Blomqvist is full-time in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian, and is coming off an overall victory at Watkins Glen. However, the GTP class is not racing at CTMP. The LMP2 class will serve as the headliners.
