- Tuesday night saw the Super DIRTcar Series back in action at Autodrome Drummond for the second night of King of the North. Unlike Monday, there were no major incidents.
Here, Alex Yankowski started from pole, but immediately lost the advantage to Mat Williamson. Williamson led until he
approached lapped traffic. That allowed Yankowski to move back in. He tried to make the move for the lead just past halfway, but scrubbed the outside wall and lost momentum.
The battle allowed Matt Sheppard, who won Monday night's feature, to move in on the leaders. Sheppard was able to get past Yankowski on lap 51 for second, then began to put the pressure on
Williamson.
It took until the closing laps of the race for Sheppard to truly put the moves on the points leader. On lap 71, Sheppard executed a slide job on Williamson for the lead. Williamson attempted to fight back, but Sheppard was able to clear him. From there, Sheppard held on for the Drummondville sweep.
The margin of victory was 1.478 seconds over Williamson. Yankowski ended up third, then Tim Sears Jr. and Alex Payne.
In the points, Williamson expanded his advantage over Yankowski to 10 points. Sheppard is third, then Payne and Erick Rudolph.
