- Tony Stewart Racing announced Tuesday that an era is over.
Donny Schatz is out of the No. 15 sprint car, effective immediately. He will be replaced by Kerry Madsen.
- The Super DIRTcar Series spent Tuesday night at Ransomville Speedway for the Ron Martin Summer Nationals. For point leader Mat Williamson, the night started terribly as his throttle stuck, resulting in a huge roll over crash that forced him to go to a backup car.
The crew was able to get the
backup prepped quickly for time trials. A decent heat race got him into the redraw, where he won the pole for the 75-lap feature.
In the race, Williamson led all 75 laps to take a big victory. He won by 5.046 seconds over his brother-in-law Gary Lindberg. Matt Sheppard was third, then Darren Smith and Peter Britten.
Alex Yankowski broke during the race and finished 22nd. As a result, Williamson's lead is now 60 points in the standings over Sheppard. Yankowski is down to third, then Erick Rudolph and Alex Payne.
