- Monday night saw the Super DIRTcar Series continue the SummerFAST series-within-a-series at Brewerton Speedway. Here, Peter Britten, who won Sunday night at Weedsport, started from the pole and led the first 32 laps unopposed. At that point, Jimmy Phelps ran him down and the two drivers dueled back and forth.
The fighting brought both Tim Sears Jr. and Alex Yankowski into the mix. Sears was able to take second from Phelps and put the pressure on Britten for the lead.
After a restart, Sears went to the outside and was able to ride the cushion to get around Britten for the lead on lap 49. From there, Sears was able to hold on to win his
first career Super DIRTcar Series race.
Sears won by 2.018 seconds over Mat Williamson. Phelps was third, then Amy Holland and Anthony Perrego.
In the points, Williamson expanded his points lead to 88 over Alex Yankowski, who finished sixth. Matt Sheppard is third,
then Alex Payne and Erick Rudolph.
