- World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series teams were at Atomic Speedway Monday night for the Chillicothe Classic. Here, Carson Macedo started from pole and led all 25 laps to win at Atomic. It is his 50th career victory.
Cole Duncan was second behind Macedo for the whole race, but
rubbed the wall in turn 4 on the last lap. That allowed Chris Windom to finish second, .488 seconds back. Duncan had to settle for third, then Hunter Schuerenberg and Skylar Gee.
David Gravel finished seventh. That allowed him to expand his points lead up to 182 points over both Buddy Kofoid and Logan Schuchart. Macedo is fourth, then Sheldon Haudenschild.
- The Super DIRTcar Series was in action Monday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, N.Y. for The Natural 77, a race held in honor of the late Dale Planck. It ended up being a Matt Sheppard benefit.
Sheppard was able to take the lead away from Peter Britten on the
first lap and was not touched as he took his 99th career victory in the series. That puts him second all-time behind Brett Hearn.
Sheppard won by .807 seconds over Britten. Erick Rudolph was third, then Jordan McCreadie and Alex Yankowski.
Yankowski
expanded his points lead up to 11 over Rudolph. Mat Williamson is third, then Sheppard and Mike Mahaney.
