- In Free Practice No. 2, Toyota Gazoo Racing's Sebastien Buemi was fastest with a lap at 147.855 mph. The lap was .451 seconds faster than Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's Norman Nato. AF Corse's Yifei Ye was third in his Ferrari, then the Porsche Penske Motorsport No. 4 of Pascal Wehrlein. Miguel Molina was fifth.

Things weren't all great for the No. 8 Toyota. Right at the end of the session, Ryo Hirakawa spun in the Porsche Curves after making contact with Kessel Racing's Casper Stevenson. The contact cut Hirakawa's right rear tire. No official penalty was assessed, but Hirakawa was summoned to the stewards afterwards.

In LMP2, AO by TF's Dane Cameron was fastest in the main class and LMP2 Pro-Am with a lap at 140.134 mph. He was 1.129 seconds faster than United Autosports' Pietro Fittipaldi. CLX - Pure Racing's Tom Blomqvist was third, then TDS Racing's Clement Novalak. VDS Panis Racing's Franck Perera was fifth.

Cameron's lap in LMP2 Pro-Am was 1.307 seconds faster than Deletraz. Novalak was third, then AF Corse's Antonio Felix da Costa and Nielsen Racing's Colin Braun.

In LMGT3, Akkodis ASP Team's Jose Maria Lopez was fastest in his Lexus at 129.475 mph, faster than the pole lap in LMGT3 qualifying Wednesday. His lap was .027 seconds faster than teammate Jack Hawksworth. Manthey 1st Phorm's Richard Lietz was third, then Kessel Racing's Daniel Serra. Iron Lynx's Maxime Martin was fifth. 

"It just means so much on every single aspect. It will be a tough race, and nobody knows the track. I know the track, so I got a little bit of an advantage in there, but then I also don’t know the [Xfinity] car, so I’d say it evens out.

But yeah, I’m really excited. Been working really hard for that, and I know that the Mexico fans and crowd are going to be really passionate about that. So hopefully, we can get a good result for them.
