Around the World in Motorsports: Nov. 7-9 |
- NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular Dawson Sutton took the lead from Cole Butcher on a restart with around 85 laps to go Sunday. From there, he was able to hold on to win the El Bandido All-American 400, the season finale for the ASA STARS National Tour and the crown jewel of Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. It's also a hometown victory as Sutton is from 25 miles from Nashville and his team, Rackley W.A.R., is also
based in the Nashville area. Sutton won by 1.179 seconds over Carson Brown. Derek Thorn was third, then Dylan Fetcho and Stephen Nasse. - TF Sport's Daniel Juncadella was fined €5000 (~$5781.20), €4000 suspended for "rude [and] disrespectful behavior towards another driver"
during Saturday's FIA World Endurance Championship BAPCO Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain. The issue stems from a fierce battle in the seventh hour of the race that Juncadella had with Team WRT's Augusto Farfus. After multiple laps of racing and nearly getting driven off the road, Juncadella was able to clear Farfus' BMW for position. However, Juncadella didn't like how
he was raced and extended his middle finger out the window of his Corvette towards Farfus. This is not the first time this year that such a scenario has happened. Back in January, Farfus was blocking Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports' Tommy Milner in the 22nd hour of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The result was similar. The difference in that situation as compared to Saturday that is Farfus was multiple laps down and keeping Milner from being able to pull away from Farfus' teammate Connor de Phillippi.
