- Magnus Racing announced Tuesday that they will be back in action at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the Motul Petit Le Mans, their third start of the season. - IMSA released an expanded 2026 schedule for the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge Tuesday. The series has expanded from six race weekends to 10
with the addition of four endurance weekends. Those weekends, which will be for LMP3 cars only, will feature a two-hour endurance race with driver changes.
The endurance race weekends will be at Sebring, Circuit of the Americas, VIRginia International Raceway and Road America. All four of these races weekend will be separate from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (Ex: The
Endurance round at Sebring will be two weeks prior to the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring).
The six sprint rounds are mostly unchanged. The only other change of note is that the LMP3 class has been dropped from the VIR sprint weekend in August. Much like with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the VIR sprint weekend will be a GT-only weekend.
