- In IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action, Action Express Racing's Jack Aitken was fastest in Practice No. 1 with a lap at 128.319 mph in his Cadillac. He was .411 seconds faster than Meyer Shank Racing with
Curb-Agajanian's Tom Blomqvist. The Heart of Racing's Ross Gunn was third in the Aston Martin Valkyrie, followed by Nick Yelloly in the second Shank Acura. Wayne Taylor Racing's Louis Deletraz was fifth.
In LMP2, AO Racing's Dane Cameron was fastest with a lap at 125.503 mph, 12th overall. His lap was .099 seconds faster than Inter Europol Competition's Tom Dillmann. Tower Motorsports'
Sebastien Bourdais was third, then TDS Racing's Mikkel Jensen. PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports' Logan Sargeant was fifth.
Paul Miller Racing's Dan Harper was fastest in GTD Pro with a lap at 114.853 mph in his BMW. He was .022 seconds faster than Vasser Sullivan's Aaron Telitz. Neil Verhagen in the second Paul Miller BMW was third, then Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports' Antonio
Garcia. The Lamborghini of Pfaff Motorsports' Andrea Caldarelli was fifth.
Finally, Winward Racing's Philip Ellis was fastest in GTD with a lap at 114.820 mph, just .023 seconds slower than Harper and third fastest of GT drivers. He was .158 seconds faster than Triarsi Competizione's Kenton Koch. AF Corse's Alessandro Pier Guidi was third, then Turner Motorsport's Robby Foley and
Inception Racing's Frederic Schandorff.
There were two red flags during the session. The first occurred when Magnus Racing's John Potter spun into the gravel in turn 5. He was able to continue after getting pulled out.
Later on, Pratt Miller Motorsports' James Roe and Triarsi Competizione's No. 021 Ferrari for
Robert Megennis collided at turn 5. All three cars will lose their best qualifying lap later today.
In Practice No. 2, Aitken was once again fastest, this time with a lap at 129.003 mph. This is the fastest lap of the weekend to this point.
Aitken was .293 seconds faster than
Porsche Penske Motorsport's Matt Campbell. Wayne Taylor Racing's Filipe Albuquerque was third, then BMW M Team RLL's Dries Vanthoor and Gunn.
CrowdStrike Racing by APR's Alex Quinn was fastest in LMP2 with a lap at 125.133 mph. He was .236 seconds faster than TDS Racing's Hunter McAlrea. Era Motorsports' Oliver Jarvis was third, while Juan Manuel Correa was fourth. Benjamin Pedersen was
fifth.
GTD was led by Cetilar Racing's Lorenzo Patrese with a lap at 115.634 mph. He was .081 seconds faster than Koch in a similar Ferrari. Koch's teammate Riccardo Agostini was third, then Turner Motorsport's Patrick Gallagher. Magnus Racing's Jan Heylen was fifth in his Aston Martin.
Telitz was fastest in GTD Pro with a lap at 115.484 mph, third of GT Drivers and .103 seconds slower than Patrese. He was two-hundredths of a second faster than Ford Multimatic Motorsports' Sebastian Priaulx. DragonSpeed's Albert Costa was third, then Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports' Nicky Catsburg and Harper.
There were three red flags
during the session. Two were caused by the Lone Star Racing Mercedes. First, Lin Hodenius stalled on track. Later on, Wyatt Bricachek got in the gravel.
Prior to Briacheck's issues, AO Racing's PJ Hyett spun in the chicane and collected Ford Multimatic Motorsports' Christopher Mies. Both cars suffered minor damage in the incident. Both AO Racing and Lone Star Racing will lose their best time in qualifying as a result
of being at fault for a red flag.
In night practice, Gunn was fastest overall with a lap at 127.026 mph, the first time that the Aston Martin Valkyrie has topped a session. He was .009 seconds faster than Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian's Renger van der Zande. Campbell was third, followed by Ricky Taylor and Robin Frijns.
Jensen was fastest in LMP2 at 125.782 mph, the fastest lap of the weekend to this point. He was .345 seconds faster than Dillmann. United Autosports' Ben Hanley was third, then AF Corse's Nicklas Nielsen and Quinn.
Vasser Sullivan was quickest in both of the GT classes. Jack Hawksworth had the fastest GT lap at 115.277 mph to top GTD. He was .196 seconds faster
than Schandorff. Conquest Racing's Daniel Serra was third, then Foley and Lone Star Racing's Scott Andrews.
Ben Barnicoat was fastest in GTD Pro at 115.154 mph, .085 seconds slower than Hawksworth. The lap was .269 seconds faster than Priaulx. Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports' Nico Varrone was third, then DragonSpeed's Giacomo Altoe. AO Racing's Laurin Heinrich was
fifth.
