- Wright Motorsports announced Wednesday
that they will field two full-time cars in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS competition in 2026. The No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be shared by Dave Musial Jr. and Ryan Yardley.
Musial Jr. made a couple of starts last year in a Ferrari 296 GT3 in IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge. Yardley is the defending champion of
Porsche Carrera Cup North America and has one career start in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge for Murillo Racing. He made his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut for Muehlner Motorsports America in the Rolex 24 at Daytona last month, finishing 15th in class.
Musial Jr. will also run full-time in GT America in a different Porsche 911 GT3 R. That car will carry a paint scheme
reminiscent of the Joker.
The second full-time entry, No. 242, will be shared by Therese Lahlouh and Thomas Merrill. Lahlouh is moving up from USAC Porsche Sprint Challenge for this year, while Merrill won the Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli TA2 Series championship in 2022. He has eight career WeatherTech starts with two class victories (2021 at Watkins Glen in LMP2 and
the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona in LMP3).
