- In the opening qualifying session for this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans, Signatech Alpine's Ferdinand Habsburg was fastest overall in his Alpine A424 with a lap at 150.050 mph. The lap was a mere .013 seconds faster than Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's Louis Deletraz. Wayne Taylor Racing's Jordan Taylor was third in his Cadillac, followed by BMW M Team WRT's Rene Rast and Sebastien Bourdais in
the second JOTA Cadillac.
It was a bad day for Peugeot TotalEnergies as both of the Peugeot 9X8s failed to qualify in the top 15, meaning that they will not advance to today's Hyperpole sessions.
In LMP2, Duqueine Team's Doriane Pin was fastest with a lap at 141.996 mph. The lap was .567 seconds
faster than CLX Motorsport's Ian Aguilera. Inter Europol Competition's Bijoy Garg was third, then Forestier Racing by Panis' Louis Rousset. Vector Sport's Ryan Cullen was fifth. AO by TF's PJ Hyett was 11th in class, but topped the LMP2 Pro-Am subclass in "Rockie" with a lap at 139.376 mph.
In LMGT3, Racing Team Turkey's Peter Dempsey was fastest in class with a lap at 129.298
mph. However, he was disqualified from the session due to the rear diffuser strakes being out of compliance with
the rules.
As a result, Proton Competition's Eric Powell inherited the provisional class pole in his Ford Mustang GT3 Evo with a lap at 129.184 mph. The lap was .024 seconds faster than the Aston Martin driven by fellow former GT World Challenge America powered by AWS regular The Heart of Racing's Gray Newell. Manthey Racing's James Cottingham was third in his Porsche, then
the BMW of Team WRT's Darren Leung and the Ferrari of Kessel Racing's Dustin Blattner.
- Free Practice No. 1 saw Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA's Earl Bamber go fastest with a lap at 149.575 mph. The lap was 1.562 seconds faster than the similar Cadillac of Jordan Taylor. Rast was third, then Will Stevens in the second JOTA entry. Habsburg was fifth.
In LMP2, Pin was quickest with a lap at 141.610 mph. That lap was .710 seconds faster than TDS Racing's Kevin Estre in the fastest of the LMP2 Pro-Am entries. IDEC Sport's Valerio Rinicella was third, then AO by TF's Dane Cameron and United Autosports' Gregoire Saucy.
LMGT3
was topped by Akkodis ASP Team's Jack Hawksworth with a lap at 129.302 mph. The lap was one-tenth of a second faster than Team WRT's Augusto Farfus. Teammate Dan Harper was third, then Team Qatar by Iron Lynx's Julian Hanses. Racing Team Turkey's Charlie Eastwood was fifth.
- Free Practice No. 2, the first night session of the weekend, saw Toyota Racing's Kamui Kobayashi go fastest
with a lap at 147.898 mph in his Toyota TR010 Hybrid. He was .220 seconds faster than AF Corse's Yifei Ye. Wayne Taylor Racing's Filipe Albuquerque was third, then Victor Martins in the No. 36 Alpine. Stevens was fifth.
In LMP2, Forestier Racing by Panis' Esteban Masson was fastest with a lap at 142.672 mph, the fastest lap so far this weekend. He was 1.320 seconds faster
than CrowdStrike Racing by APR's Alex Quinn, the best of the LMP2 Pro-Am runners. AF Corse's Matthieu Vaxiviere was third, followed by Inter Europol Competition's Tom Dillmann. Proton Competition's Kakunoshin Ohta was fifth.
Farfus was fastest in LMGT3 with a lap at 129.634 mph. The lap was .356 seconds faster than the Mercedes of Iron Lynx's Maxime Martin. Manthey
Racing's Riccardo Pera was third, then the McLaren of Garage 59's Marvin Kirchhoefer. The Ferrari of Vista AF Corse's Alessio Rovera was fifth.
