From Monday:
Q: In the 1998 Goody's Headache
Powders 500 at Martinsville, Jeff Green drove the Bahari Racing No. 30 in place of regular driver Derrike Cope. Why?
A: Cope had been injured in a crash during the Stihl 300 at Atlanta back in March. While he didn't miss any races at the time, he was not 100%. Then came Texas. That race weekend saw the
track have drainage problems. Water seeped up through the track in Turn 1, resulting in first round qualifying being scrapped. That wasn't before a number of drivers crashed in the fluid. Cope was one of them. He crashed and aggravated his rib injuries from Atlanta. To make matters worse, he failed to qualify at Texas as well.
