Around the World in Motorsports: Sept. 29

- Compass Racing announced Tuesday that Jeff Kingsley will replace Corey Fergus for the remainder of the 2020 season in the No. 76 McLaren 720S GT3. It is not a performance issue causing this move. Instead, Fergus' wife is pregnant and expecting their first child at any time.

Kingsley is the current points leader in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup, having won six of the nine races to date (including a three-race sweep last weekend at Mid-Ohio. He has not finished worse than second all year.

- NASCAR is expected to announce at least part of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series schedule today. We'll bring you that and anything else that breaks today at Frontstretch.

Chad Knaus Leaving Crew Chief Role, Becoming Hendrick VP of Competition in 2021

Hendrick Motorsports announced Tuesday that Chad Kraus will be promoted to the role of Vice President of Competition at the end of the 2020 season, ending a 20-year career as a crew chief.

Chicagoland, Kentucky Removed from Cup Schedule

While the full Cup schedule has not been released yet, there are some known factors. NASCAR confirmed Tuesday that Chicagoland Speedway and Kentucky Speedway will not be on the schedule in 2021.

Brandon Kettelle Wins eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Race at Talladega

Brandon Kettelle benefited from a huge pus from Eric Smith to win Tuesday night's 250-mile eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series race at the virtual Talladega Superspeedway as a huge wreck broke out behind him. Smith was second, then Bob Bryant, Bobby Zalenski and Jimmy Mullis.
