- In the opening session of Prologue testing at Spa, United Autosports' Filipe Albuquerque was fastest overall in his LMP2 ORECA 07-Gibson with a lap at 125.370 mph. He was a half-second faster than Racing Team Nederland's Giedo van der Garde. Realteam Racing's Loic Duval was third, then DragonSpeed's Ben Hanley and Anthony Davidson in Jota Sport's No. 38. The fastest Hypercar was the No. 8
Toyota of Brendon Hartley in eighth, but the general opinion is that the Toyotas aren't showing their true pace.
The session did see two separate GTE-Am class Aston Martins crash at the Eau Rouge-Radillion complex. TF Sport's Ben Keating and D'Station Racing's Satoshi Hoshino had separate big crashes there that forced TF Sport to revert to a backup car.
- The afternoon session saw Albuquerque go fastest again with a lap at 125.516 mph. This was only one-thousandth of a second faster than Racing Team Nederland's Job van Uitert. Team WRT's Robin Frijns was third, then the Hypercar of Signatech Alpine's Matthieu Vaxiviere. Duval was fifth fastest.
This session was interrupted by multiple red flags, including a huge wreck for Jota Sport's Sean Galael. That crash effectively wiped out the No. 28 ORECA, forcing the team to build around a spare tub. Team Project 1 also crashed their No. 46 Porsche, but didn't damage it that badly.
