- Pietro Fittipaldi has resigned from his role with G-Drive Racing in the European Le Mans Series, effective immediately. Fittipaldi is finding it too difficult to juggle his responsibilities in sports car racing with similar responsibilities in open-wheel racing.
Fittipaldi drove G-Drive Racing's No. 25 Aurus 01-Gibson in the ELMS season-opening 4 Hours of Barcelona alongside Rui Andrade and John Falb. (Note: The Aurus 01 is a rebadged ORECA 07; Aurus is a Russian manufacturer and G-Drive Racing is a Russian branding). The trio ultimately finished seventh in class. Former Marussia F1 driver Roberto Merhi has been tapped to replace Fittipaldi.
