- During Wednesday night's Jokers Wild feature at Eldora Speedway, Carson Macedo was in a hurry. On the first lap of the race, Macedo went four-wide just past the start-finish line from the sixth starting spot and moved all the way to third. He then went to the inside and took second in turns 1 and 2. Finally, Macedo pulled a slide job on pole sitter Brian Brown to take the
lead in turn 3. Sixth to first on the first lap. From there, Macedo held on to take a spectacular victory.
Brown finished second in the 25-lap feature, followed by David Gravel. Kerry Madsen was fourth, while Aaron Reutzel was fifth.
- FOX Sports announced Wednesday that they have hired Josh Sims as their newest NASCAR reporter. You'll see him for the first time on NASCAR RaceDay Sunday afternoon on FOX Sports
1. Sims comes to FOX Sports from WJZY FOX46 in Charlotte, where he has worked since 2015 as a sports anchor/reporter, often appearing on their NASCAR coverage. Prior to that, he worked for WTEN and WXXA, the ABC and FOX affiliates in Albany, N.Y. Last year, WJZY and WGHP FOX 8 of Greensboro (both Nexstar Media Group-owned FOX affiliates) teamed up for a couple of specials around the Darlington and Charlotte race weekends that were syndicated on Nexstar Media Group-owned
stations. Sims appeared on both of those shows and acquitted himself well.
Sims is actually the second on-air personality to work on FOX NASCAR broadcasts to have worked for WXXA FOX 23 in Albany, N.Y. In 2001, FOX Sports hired former sports director Sean Pragano to be a reporter on their NASCAR show at the time, Totally NASCAR, on FOX Sports Net.
