- Kossuth County Speedway in Angola, Iowa released a statement Thursday after a clip from the stream of the track's card on July 15 went viral on Twitter. In it, substitute PA announcer Lon Oelke made comments about standing for the American
National Anthem while at the same time denigrating the Black National Anthem and railing against African-Americans. The track management is very unhappy with Oelke's statements and has made clear that he won't be back in any capacity with the track. FLORacing released their own statement indicating that they're not cool with it either. They have also deleted the broadcast from their platform.
- Tyler Erb Jr. continues his swell form at I-80 Speedway, winning Night No. 2 of the I-80 Nationals Thursday night. Erb led flag-to-flag in the caution-free race and won by 5.5 seconds over Hudson O'Neal. Brandon Overton was third, then Spencer Hughes and Ricky Thornton Jr.
