Around the World in Motorsports: Aug. 25

- In Grand Forks, N.D. Wednesday night, Brad Sweet passed Sheldon Haudenschild on the final lap and held on to win the rescheduled Gerdau presents the 2nd Leg of the Northern Tour at River Cities Speedway. For Sweet, the victory was his 15th of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season. Haudenschild was one-eighth of a
second back in second, then Carson Macedo, Donny Schatz and Logan Schuchart.
Sweet's victory and a sixth-place finish for David Gravel means that Sweet has a 132-point lead over Gravel with 21 races remaining. Macedo is third in points, then Schatz and Haudenschild.
