Around the World in Motorsports: Aug. 30

- Jimmie Johnson got his first taste of INDYCAR on ovals Monday. The seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion tested at Texas Motor Speedway, under the tutelage of teammates Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan, in addition to longtime Chip Ganassi Racing advisor Dario Franchitti. Johnson described the speed as "insane" and that he has to recalibrate his eyes for the high speeds.

For Sunday night's 500-mile humid endurance race in South Carolina, there are 37 teams entered. James Davison returns in the No. 53, replacing Garrett Smithley.

For Saturday's Xfinity race in Darlington, 41 teams are entered. MBM Motorsports' No. 13 has been excluded. Mason Massey moves over to Rick Ware Racing, while Denny Hamlin is in the No. 54.

Sunday afternoon's Truck race has 38 teams entered. Colby Howard will drive the CR7 Motorsports No. 9, while Dylan Lupton will have his one-off with Kyle Busch Motorsports.

| | Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth Running Full ARCA Schedule in 2022
Rev Racing announced Monday that they will field two cars full-time in the ARCA Menards Series in 2022. Nick Sanchez will continue in the No. 2 Chevrolet. He'll be joined by Rajah Caruth, who moves up from ARCA
Menards Series East.
